LES EXPONENTIALISTES DE LA BIBLE - COMMENT ÊTRE UNE PERSONNE À QUI DIEU PARLE ? (Samuel)

L’exponentialiste n’est pas supérieur aux autres, n’est pas nécessairement plus intelligent que les autres, mais il cherche à faire constamment la bonne chose. En effet, il sait qu’atteindre la cible de façon régulière fait de lui une personne d’exception dans la société. Pour faire la bonne chose, il a besoin d’une boussole intérieure qui lui donne avec certitude la bonne direction. Il a compris que l’ultime guide de la vie, c’est Dieu. Alors, il cherche à entendre la voix divine pour tous les aspects de sa vie.

Dans l’Ancien Testament, Samuel, ce jeune « exponentialiste », se démarque de façon évidente du reste de sa génération, car Dieu lui parle. Cet homme est au service de l’Éternel devant Éli. 

« La parole de l’Éternel est rare en ce temps-là, les visions n’étaient pas fréquentes. »
1 Samuel 3 : 1

Le mot vision ici est le mot chazon en hébreu qui signifie aussi « révélation divine ». Lors de cette époque de désolation, de sècheresse spirituelle et d’apostasie, les gens ne sont presque plus connectés avec la source divine, et les « visions » sont rares. Toutefois, Samuel fait partie de l’exception, Dieu lui parle.

Voici quelques éléments qui expliquent la connexion divine de Samuel qui nous donne des clés pour le vivre à notre tour.

IL SE TIENT DANS LA PRÉSENCE DE DIEU

« La lampe de Dieu n’était pas encore éteinte, et Samuel était couché dans le temple de l’Éternel, où était l’arche de Dieu. »
1 Samuel 3 : 3

Anne, sa mère, ne pouvait pas avoir d’enfants. Elle avait fait un vœu à Dieu en disant : si tu me donnes un fils, je te le consacrerai. Le miracle est arrivé et elle a enfanté Samuel. Dès son enfance, il a été confié à un sacrificateur du nom de Éli et il a grandi dans le service de Dieu.

Ce qui est intéressant dans ce texte, c’est qu’il dort à côté de l’Arche de Dieu. Il faut savoir que l’Arche dans l’Ancien-Testament représente le symbole terrestre de la présence de Dieu.

Samuel sert alors dans le temple toute la journée et le soir, il dort près de l’Arche. Autrement dit, il passe sa vie dans la présence de Dieu. Il n’est donc pas surprenant que le chazon divin fait partie de sa vie. Plus tu te tiens proche de la source, plus tes chances d’avoir des informations de celle-ci sont grandes.

Pourtant, sans hésiter il se lève trois fois et déclare : me voici.

IL EST DISPONIBLE

« Alors l’Éternel appela Samuel. Il répondit : Me voici! »
1 Samuel 3 : 4

Pendant qu’il dort la nuit, Dieu l’appelle. Au départ, il ne sait pas que c’est Dieu, il pense que c’est Éli. Pourtant, sans hésiter il se lève trois fois et déclare : me voici. Ce passage peut sembler banal, mais se faire réveiller la nuit n’est jamais quelque chose d’agréable. De plus, la plupart d’entre nous auraient tendance à dire que nous répondrions demain matin. Samuel n’hésite pas un instant et il se rend disponible. Son esprit de service va faire en sorte qu’il sera celui à qui Dieu parlera. J’ai aussi remarqué que les gens disponibles ont souvent plus d’opportunités que la majorité.

IL EST À L’ÉCOUTE

« L’Éternel vint et se présenta, et il appela comme les autres fois : Samuel, Samuel! Et Samuel répondit : Parle, car ton serviteur écoute. »
1 Samuel 3 : 10

Il est fascinant de voir comment Samuel se démarque. Une fois qu’il comprend que c’est Dieu qui l’appelle, il ne commence pas la conversation en déballant sa liste de plaintes ou de requêtes, mais il passe en mode : parle Seigneur je suis à l’écoute. Ainsi, je pense que Dieu veut très souvent nous parler et Il nous parle, mais nous ne pouvons pas l’entendre, car nous prenons toute la place pour converser. Prier, ce n’est pas uniquement parler et demander, c’est aussi écouter.

IL EST DIFFÉRENT

« Le jeune Samuel continuait à grandir, et il était agréable à l’Éternel et aux hommes. »
1 Samuel 2 : 26

Samuel a grandi dans l’entourage et l’influence d’Éli le sacrificateur, qui avait 2 fils, Ophni et Phinées. C’était littéralement 2 jeunes délinquants qui faisaient aussi le service du temple, mais qui vivaient dans le compromis. Ils étaient rebelles envers leur père et ne respectaient pas les standards de leurs responsabilités.

Samuel aurait pu comme on le voit souvent être entrainé dans leur chute, il aurait pu vouloir faire partie du groupe, se fondre dans la masse et être accepté. Mais il a choisi d’être « différent ». Il a choisi la route de l’obéissance et de plaire à Dieu, même si c’était marginal dans son environnement.

Il n’est donc pas surprenant que Samuel soit devenu celui à qui Dieu choisit de parler et de révéler littéralement des secrets d’états. En effet, alors que le roi Saül est encore en fonction, Dieu révèle à Samuel l’improbable successeur royal. C’est une information absolument impossible à prédire avec les connaissances humaines.

Dieu envoie Samuel oindre un jeune berger inconnu du nom de David pour succéder à Saül et activer la lignée messianique. Samuel est très connecté au divin. Ainsi, nous pouvons nous aussi le devenir en suivant les traces de ce jeune exponentialiste remarquable.
